NEW RIDER INFO

NEW RIDERS WELCOME TO M1GP

Whether you're interested in improving your riding skills from recently passing your MSF class or have riding experience but are new to track or street riding, M1GP is an excellent choice.

Why? Improving basic skills on a closed course (vs. city streets or the canyons) will increase your learning curve dramatically while reducing the risk of serious injury greatly.  Furthermore, by renting a motorcycle while in the 'new rider' phase, you're likely to save your street bike a crash or two and perhaps some considerable $$$.

Although M1GP is primarily a racing organization, we do offer bike rentals to new riders for use on our practice days.  This is an excellent opportunity to improve your basic riding skills with very little risk and cost, while getting the advantages of closed-course riding and learning.  This method of learning with small bikes is not only ideal for young kids, but also for adults - proven in European and Asian countries as well as right here in the USA as the world's top riders started riding on smaller horsepower motorcycles to hone their skills.

Youth Riding and Racing - We also have a class for brand new youth riders: the TERMINATOR class which allows youngsters to experience competition on the track with a supportive community.  This class was designed for ages 4-11 year olds and offers much more to new and youth riders than pocket bikes (without the headache and expense).  It's a win-win situation in that the riders will learn more, and prepare better for the next phase of their riding, the bikes are affordable and much more reliable than many of the pocket bikes available and parts are easier to get too!.  The TERMINATOR class has been proven in Japan, Europe and here in the USA.  Please see our RACING CLASSIFICATIONS for more details on this great class for kids!

"There are a lot of kids on CRF50s (Honda) and TTR50s (Yamaha)  (and similar bikes) that just experience riding on the dirt, but at the speeds these bikes go and since they've proven to perform well on the asphalt, I think these bikes are good for kids to get a taste of what road-racing is like."
-- Sam Aoki (KORP CYCLE).

"The Honda CRF50 is perfect bike for young kids to start on for dirt and the track. Affordable, unbreakable and allows for kids to ride in a more comfortable position than pocketbikes."
-- John Hayes (Vision's dad).

One of our mottos at M1GP is "Small is Smart".  It's also a LOT of fun.  Even our very experienced racers (who also race bigger racecraft) keep racing "mini" class motorcycles.

SO, WHERE DO YOU START? Check out the racing schedule and come to one of our practice days and introduce yourself in person as we have a friendly and welcoming community.

Also, please feel free to join our forum and ask questions.  There's a section for new riders there.

The benefits are real, as well as the great times you'll have with us.

Come check it out!

Thanks,
